The qemu install path used to crash on startup with
'No assemblies found in files/.__override__/<rid>':
monodroid-glue.cc:757 / SIGABRT. Root cause: the .NET 10 Android
SDK defaults to Fast Deployment in Debug, which ships the APK
without managed assemblies and pushes them at runtime via adb —
not viable on the qemu emulator.
Fix:
- Replace the no-op -p:AndroidEnableFastDeployment=false flag
(does not exist as an MSBuild property in the .NET 10 SDK) with
-p:EmbedAssembliesIntoApk=true, which forces the build to
cross-compile the managed assemblies into native lib_*.dll.so
libraries for every ABI and pack them into the APK under
lib/<arch>/. The Mono runtime then loads them directly,
bypassing the Fast Deployment code path entirely.
- Add CONFIG variable passthrough so 'make qemu-install CONFIG=Release'
builds an optimised APK for release smoke tests.
- qemu-build now consumes $(CONFIG) instead of hardcoded 'Debug'
for the APK output path.
Side effect: the Debug APK balloons from ~13 MB (libs only) to
~160 MB (libs + AOT-compiled assemblies for all four supported
ABIs). That is acceptable for the local qemu install path; the
Forgejo release workflow builds Release APKs separately and is
unaffected.
Validated end-to-end on this machine: AVD boots in 109s, the
build produces an APK with lib_*.dll.so for x86_64 (125 MB),
uninstall + reinstall + am start no longer aborts at
monodroid-glue.cc:757 (next test will confirm the app actually
renders, this commit only fixes the Fast Deployment crash).
Also adds qemu-logcat-boot target from the previous edit
(unchanged, documented in this commit message for context).
TestWebApplicationFactory used ASPNETCORE_ENVIRONMENT=Development, which
caused Program.Main's AddConfiguration("org") to load the tracked
appsettings-org.json (the reference file with the
'*** via dotnet user-secrets ou variable d'environnement ***'
placeholder connection string). Npgsql then failed to parse that
placeholder during host startup, failing six integration tests
(observed 2026-07-11: System.ArgumentException on
NpgsqlConnectionStringBuilder.set_Item).
Switching the test host to a dedicated Testing environment makes
AddConfiguration("org") pick up the new optional
appsettings-org.Testing.json file as the last source in the chain
(JSON → env vars), which overrides YavscConnection with the
InMemory marker and the Smtp section with the test stub values.
The .gitignore exception whitelists this file explicitly: it is a
configuration source for the test host, not a secrets file.
The WebServerFixture path is unchanged — it owns its
WebApplicationBuilder and adds the same in-memory override via its
BuildApp hook.
The partial class ClientController had two constructors declared
across ClientController.cs and ClientController.Collections.cs.
ASP.NET Core DI failed to pick one at request time with:
System.InvalidOperationException: Multiple constructors accepting
all given argument types have been found in type
'Yavsc.Controllers.ClientController'.
Move IHtmlLocalizer<ClientController> into the primary constructor
in ClientController.cs and drop the duplicate one in
ClientController.Collections.cs. The Collections partial now keeps
only its readonly field and action methods; the constructor and
field assignment are unified on the main file.
Also add the missing 'using Microsoft.AspNetCore.Mvc.Localization;'
to ClientController.cs so IHtmlLocalizer resolves.
Drops 1038 files from src/Yavsc.Org/wwwroot/lib/ — they remain
on disk and are now restored via 'npm install' at build time
(see package.json and esbuild.config.mjs).
Exception: jonthornton-Datepair is not on npm, the bundled
files are kept in wwwroot/lib/jonthornton-Datepair/ as static
assets.
Also extends .gitignore to ignore:
- node_modules/, build/, package-lock.json (esbuild toolchain)
- wwwroot/js/*.min.js (regenerated by 'npm run build:js')
- .Production.env (added explicitly, not matched by '.*.env'
glob in some git versions)
This aligns themeok with the architecture already in place
on refac/js-bundle (commits ed7522c5, 196f4b0b, 292c0a2f on
that branch). The build artifacts were already present in
node_modules/ and build/ on disk; this commit only stops
tracking them.
Tested: dotnet test 11/11 green (no C# code touched).
